The challenge: finding a fully reliable technology and executing a go-to-market fast

After taking a vacation in Buenos Aires, Frank Reig, the future co-founder of Revel was amazed by the energy of the Argentinian capital and how it vibrated with lightweight motorcycles. It became obvious to him this would be such an interesting transportation option for New York City.

He shared his idea with Paul Suhey, one of his-coworkers, and both became convinced it was the beginning of something big. That’s how everything started for Revel. They quit their jobs, raised $1 million dollars from friends and relatives in 2018, and started seeking advice from experts in the ride-sharing world.

They quickly realized that getting to market fast was critical, but it wasn’t going to be easy to create a safe, reliable, and pleasant shared mobility experience without external support.

This is where ElectricFeel came in.

The solution: use ElectricFeel’s all-in-one solution to launch a fully operational pilot and scale across top US cities

Since 2012, ElectricFeel has been pioneering shared electric mobility in Switzerland by building the world-leading technology to launch and scale sharing services with e-bikes, e-mopeds, and other light electric vehicles across the globe.

This is what piqued Revel-founders interest and, ultimately, led to them choosing to partner up with ElectricFeel. The reliability of our solution combined with the great user experience helped Revel solve their key challenge—getting to market fast without losing time creating their own product from scratch.

Incredibly, Revel could launch their pilot with 68 mopeds in just a matter of a few weeks after signing the contracts with ElectricFeel.

But the launch was just the start. From there, the team’s focus moved quickly to scaling from 68 to 1000 vehicles in New York, and then again expanding to 4500 mopeds across the country. This impressive feat was a joint effort of planning and collaboration between Revel’s leaders and ElectricFeel’s experts. With ElectricFeel, they could scale quickly without compromising their excellent user experience, 24/7 service reliability, and superior operational efficiency—all critical for successful hypergrowth. “Starting with our pilot last year, we’ve worked in close partnership with ElectricFeel to provide a safe, reliable, and fun experience for our riders.” says Paul Suhey, COO & Co-Founder of Revel.

The results: the ascension of the US leader in moped sharing

Revel transformed into the US’ leading moped sharing service with ElectricFeel in only 10 months. In under a year, they scaled their pilot program into a multi-city and multi-million dollar revenue business, ushering a new market leader onto the scene.

In addition to hitting the momentous achievements of over a million miles driven by their users, Revel has continued to expand into new verticals like ride-polling and EV charging solutions to deliver on their vision of "mak[ing] every day electric."

We’re thrilled to have helped support Revel in electrifying the urban mobility sector across the US, including New York, Washing, D.C, Miami, Florida, and the California Bay Area.
